United Umpires Welcomes Benjamin Shove
as Vice President, Process and Innovation

United Umpires is pleased to announce the appointment of Benjamin Shove as Vice President, Process and Innovation, effective February 2, 2026. In this role, Shove will lead initiatives to streamline operations, enhance service delivery, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

Shove joins United Umpires from the Northeast Conference (NEC), a NCAA Division I conference headquartered in Bridgewater, New Jersey. He spent 17 years in the NEC’s sport services department advancing from Director of Assistance Commissioner and most recently as Associate Commissioner since June 2017. In the capacity, Shove was part of the NEC’s senior staff that oversaw 25 sports, in both regular season and championship administration. He assisted in implementing process improvements that enhanced efficiency and consistency across the Conference, including branding, governance, officiating, replay and scheduling.

Ben’s proficiency in sports operations and his expertise in problem solving, innovation and optimization make him a tremendous addition to our leadership team.

Shove served a four-year term on the NCAA Division I Baseball Committee during the 2017-2020 seasons before serving on the NCAA’s FCS Football Oversight Committee during the 2025-26 seasons.

At United Umpires, Shove will partner with leadership, umpires, and stakeholders to modernize workflows, improve consistency, and expand client base and footprint while also introducing innovative tools that support excellence on and off the field.
