NYCBL 2019 Umpires of Year Announced
Mahwah, NJ – August 8, 2019 – Don Goller (North Boston, NY) and Ron Starsiak (Utica, NY) have been named the New York Collegiate Baseball League (NYCBL) 2019 Umpires of the Year as selected by the league’s coaches, administrators and commissioner’s office.
UCU Executive VP, Alex Skandalis appreciates their contributions on and off the field being recognized stating, “[they are] two of the hardest working umpires in our organization. They display excellence on the field and a willingness to help the UCU team, no matter the ask. It is always a pleasure working with these guys personally and professionally.”
Skandalis continued, “I applaud Commissioner [Joe] Brown and the NYCBL for taking the time to honor two UCU umpires with these post-season awards. Beyond just the award, the league’s commitment to daily professionalism in the umpire/franchise relationship is second to none in collegiate summer baseball. The nature of this partnership makes NYCBL diamonds a great summer home for UCU umpires.”
