Criteria to be Assigned

The requirements set by UCU for an umpire to be assigned.

All umpires must comply with NCAA Post-Season certification criteria, to include:

• Attend an NCAA Preseason Umpire Clinic
• Complete a background check
• Complete the NCAA Sports Gambling Questionnaire
• Score 85% or higher on the NCAA Annual Rules Test

All umpires must wear a UCU hat. Hats are available for purchase from an independent official’s supplier.

All umpires must participate in continuing education as mandated by the conferences.

Selection of Championship Officials

UCU cooperates with the NCAA National Coordinator in whatever way is deemed necessary by the NCAA.

How We Assign

UCU uses ArbiterSports to assign games to umpires. We work in cooperation with Mid-Atlantic Collegiate Officials, so the Arbiter group umpires need to join is MAC. If you do not have access, please contact us through our web contact form and let us know you are not part of the MAC officials group on ArbiterSports.
